WEDDING SMILE MAKEOVER IN MELBOURNE

Getting Married? Do you have picture perfect wedding day smile?

A wedding is one of the most important occasions of our lives. For brides and grooms, it’s the happiest day of their lives, but it’s also a huge event for the entire family–two families that are becoming one and gathering together for the first and possibly only time.

Many pictures will be taken, and for some people, this will be the only image they have of you, at the wedding, hopefully smiling.

Imagine yourself on your wedding day. You’re wearing an ornate white gown, your hair is in a fancy updo and you’re holding a bouquet of roses fit for a queen as you stare into your beloved’s eyes. It’s exactly how you always imagined your wedding day to be.

Then the photographer says “smile.” You panic. Scared that the seismic space between your front two teeth or your discolored, uneven smile will forever mar the photos of what should be the happiest day of your life – your wedding day.

The wedding of your dreams doesn’t have to be a nightmare.

If you think your smile will mar pictures or make you self conscious, then your wedding is the right reason to have a smile makeover for your smile to look its best for your wedding day.

Benefits of a Wedding Smile Makeover

If you’re unhappy with the appearance of your smile, a wedding smile makeover can help in many ways:

  • Look great in pictures
  • Feel comfortable and confident
  • Be free to enjoy the day without worrying about cameras
  • Help you make the best first impression on new family
  • Enjoy all the foods available
  • Eliminate tooth-related pain
  • Benefits go far beyond the wedding

Of course, you’re concerned about the appearance of your smile. The pictures taken at weddings are those most often held and looked at in the future. For some people, it will be their only record of you, and you want it to be a good one.

But it’s not just about appearance. It’s about being able to enjoy the day. If you are unhappy with your smile, you’ll be constantly self-conscious, which can make it hard to smile. And if you’re not feeling free to smile, you’re not really enjoying yourself.

And we can’t neglect the function of your teeth. If your teeth aren’t in good shape, or if you have badly fitting dentures, you may not able to enjoy the foods available at the wedding. And you may experience tooth-related pain, which also makes it hard to enjoy the occasion.

Benefits can Last a Lifetime

Unlike many things you spend on for your wedding–food, drink, hair, dresses, and tuxes, for example–a wedding smile makeover is something that can benefit you for your lifetime. The results of your smile makeover can last for weeks, months, years, and even decades after the wedding.

In some cases, the benefits may last a lifetime.

Is your Smile picture perfect ready?

Anyone who has gotten married knows that photos are one of the biggest elements of the wedding day. While it may be trendy for some brides to have serious faces in their wedding photos, mimicking nostalgic bridal poses of generations past, the reality is that far too many a bride is ashamed of her teeth, and that’s why she’s not smiling wide on one of the most important days of her life. If a smile makeover were part of the wedding planning, the photographic outcome would be drastically different.

For many brides, the wedding day is all about the wedding gown, so they spend months dieting or working out in order to fit into the gown. They want to look amazing in white or blush or candlelight or whatever color they choose to wear. While of course the dress is an important symbol of the wedding day, consider what your photos will look like if your dress is stunning – but your smile is not. Will your future children one day look through your wedding album and say, “Mom, why aren’t you smiling? Were you sad about getting married?”

Maybe you were just embarrassed about the condition of your teeth and didn’t want to see them reflected in the many wedding day photos. Instead of regretting your smile later – or lack thereof – do something about it now, before the wedding, so you can really show your joy on this happiest of days and look back fondly at the memories again and again.

You’ll never be sorry you spent the time or resources to improve your smile for your wedding day. Along with having a better smile, you will look healthier, younger, and happier – and who doesn’t want to exude those characteristics on the day they say, “I do?” When you feel better about yourself, you’ll love yourself, and you’ll be better prepared to fully love the one you’re marrying.

Ways to Get Perfect Wedding Day Teeth

Your wedding day is one of the most momentous and magical days of your life. The last thing you want is to look back on all of your wedding pictures and feel embarrassed by the appearance of your teeth and smile.

It takes a little bit of time and preparation to get perfect wedding day teeth, so it’s best to get started right away with a plan. Whether you want a full smile makeover or to simply improve what you already have, we can make that happen! Scheduling a cosmetic dental consultation with Dr. Castro is a great idea as this will allow her to hear your concerns and together you can create a treatment plan that works with your wedding timeline.

Here are your few Cosmetic Options:

Straighten Your Teeth with Invisalign

Crooked teeth are embarrassing, but so are unsightly metal braces! Forget conventional teeth straightening methods and try Invisalign in the months leading up to your wedding. The Invisalign system uses invisible polyurethane plastic trays to gently shift your teeth into a straight and attractive position.

Since your Invisalign trays are custom-made for your mouth, you’ll follow a personalized treatment plan that delivers results by the Big Day. You’ll want to be extra diligent about your compliance with wearing your trays for the allotted 22 hours a day to stay on track. It’s best to schedule your consultation with us as soon as you can so that you can get started right away.

Look Red Carpet Ready With Porcelain Veneers

If your teeth are irreversibly stained, chipped, or cracked, veneers may be the best solution to give you a confident smile on your wedding day.

Porcelain veneers are very thin strips of porcelain affixed to the outer portion of your teeth. They’re designed to match the natural and healthy appearance of your surrounding teeth in order to hide imperfections and make your smile look cohesive once again. Porcelain veneers aren’t just a temporary solution either, they’re durable, resist staining, and last more than a decade with the right care!

Remove Unsightly Stains with Professional Teeth Whitening

Let’s face it- stained teeth are unattractive. If years of coffee, wine, and soda have left your teeth looking brown and yellow instead of white, visiting your dentist before your wedding day is a must!

Dental Bonding Procedure

If your teeth are badly stained or damaged, this affordable option a may be required to achieve that cosmetic dental makeover look and feel. Bonding involves a special tooth-colored composite material that is placed over the affected tooth or teeth and then buffed, shaped and polished to look like your own natural teeth. It is very effective if you have just one or two teeth that need treatment. Bonding is a durable and long-lasting way to get a more beautiful smile, fast.

Timing Your Wedding Smile Makeover

Every smile makeover is customized, so it’s impossible to say when you should start your makeover until we know what are the right procedures for you.

However, the sooner you have your consultation, the more options you will have for getting your smile makeover. Here is a breakdown on the timing that might be required for different cosmetic treatments:

One Year or More: Orthodontic treatments require the movement of your teeth. Modern options can sometimes be done in less time, but if you want to be sure that you can straighten your teeth by the wedding day, it’s best to have a consultation at least a year before the wedding.

Six Months or More: Dental implants take time to fully integrate into your bone. If you want to make sure your replacement teeth are healthy and fully functional by the day of the wedding, schedule your consultation at least six months in advance.

Three Months or Less: Many cosmetic treatments can still be completed at this time. Porcelain veneers, upgrading fillings and crowns,  can all be completed in about a month. Scheduling a consultation three months ahead gives us time to fit your procedure into our busy schedule.

One Month or Less: Teeth whitening can be completed within an hour, but we have to schedule time, so don’t wait any later than a month before the wedding day.

We’re used to working to a deadline, but please don’t leave it too late. Smiles are for life, not just for your wedding so we won’t cut corners. Here’s an approximate timeline for the various treatments. Please note, these are minimum times, more is always better!

I need a full smile makeover for my wedding day – what procedures do I need to consider?

A combination Dental Bonding, Porcelain Veneers and Composite Veneers can be used to fix tooth cracks, chips and gaps, creating a beautiful smile makeover for your wedding day. Usually 4 – 10 porcelain or composite veneers are applied to front teeth to produce natural looking results. You could also consider teeth whitening to give yourself a brighter smile for your wedding.

Smile Makeover in a Week

If you are short on time, you can still consider many options that will make your smile bright, healthy and beautiful on your big day. These include same day teeth whitening, bonding and Dental Veneers. All these can be accomplished in few days to make you ready on your wedding day!

Bonding is typically the first line. Bonding can improve the appearance of teeth that are chipped, broken, cracked, stained or have spaces between them. Bonding involves a special tooth-colored composite material that is placed over the affected tooth or teeth and then buffed, shaped and polished to look like your own natural teeth. It is very effective and  fast. This procedure can also be performed in one visit at our office.

When to whiten – the big question

Sensitivity can be an issue for some people when using teeth whitening products, so with your wedding approaching, it’s best to start your whitening about 6-8 weeks in advance of your big day, just in case. Smile IQ kits come with desensitising gel should you prove to be one of the few who do experience sensitivity.

Start Whitening

Don’t leave whitening until the last minute! The whitening process generally takes takes at least one to two weeks, depending on your desired results, so it’s important not to try to cram it in. One of the biggest mistakes a bride can make before her big day is professional whitening the day or night before. This is generally not recommended in case of accidental exposure to the gum tissue, which can cause gingival irritation.

His and hers perfect smiles
